Its not always quiet at night, a few need to be chased away.When they have 4/5 guys chasing them they soon see the logic and leave.

MSC Napoli. We are there in force Beer, Exmouth, Lyme and West bay teams around 60 police, security firms and council We will clear the beach advising people to drop what ever they have and leave or be arrested. Police and Coastguards formed a line down the beach and swept East and West. 2 containers had been set alight and were billowing a brown smoke, 1 of the team became ill after passing a container that’s was alite, an ambulance was called along with Devon fire and rescue to deal with the fires. The team member with breathing difficulties was airlifted to hospital for treatment, ( they were released later that day) the fire chief gave the all clear as the fumes were non hazardous. The remaining people on the beach were persuaded to leave and the beach was reclaimed by 1000. the security fences were erected and the beach handed over to the security firms We would keep a Coastguard presence there 24/7 to assist them Beer to cover until 0800 on 26th then Exmouth and Lyme to cover to give us a well earned rest Weather on scene wind SW 2, cold and showers Time on scene 0630 - 0800 on 26th

We assisted the Police and press Office with local info it was going well until 2014 when the 35 containers fell over board.Advice was given to the police and media office where these would come ashore and we took the Police to Branscombe intime to see the first containers come ashore.
